The Akaushi Wagyu, "Akaushi" meaning "red cow" and Wagyu "Japanese cow" is a red Japanese beef breed, originating in Kumamoto, Japan. It is one of four Japanese breeds known as Wagyu. The meat is desired for its intense marbling, containing various amounts of intramuscular fat.
