Poltavas are an old Ukranian dual-purpose breed of chicken named after the Ukranian city of Poltava.
It is believed they were developed from local chicken breeds. They are found in three colour varieties: Clay, Cuckoo and Black. They are very resistant and adapt easily to any conditions.
