About Curiosity Banality

These miniature paintings are framed in antique ivory and tortoiseshell frames (made between ca. 1800-1930's). Ordinary every-day advertising images celebrate our consumer's society and refer to the Dutch tradition in still life painting. The banal subjects of the images contrast with their delicately crafted, precious frames.
